Description
Arches and niches is a volumetric artwork by Elahe Mohammadzadeh based on a design by Javad Moradi, and is created with wood and metal in the dimensions of 69.5 x 33.5 cm;
It is the objective visualization of door as a threshold opened to art and culture. Door is considered as the portal of Iranian culture and thought; An entrance to mental world of ours; with knobs and knockers and stud; and a rusty lock sitting on the chain of the door; A symbol of durability and discontinuity that casts a shadow on Iranian deep-rooted art.
The manifestation of authentic Iranian architectural motifs on a wooden canvas; arcs, niches and stairs show a way up; and drew beautiful geometric patterns on it; here, it is assumed as a canvas that Iranian motifs of art and culture can be painted on it.
