The history of miniature painting can be traced back to before Islam era, however, after the Abbasid era in third century AH Iranian painting revived after a long period of sanction.
Persian miniature is in fact Iranian painting, before the emerge of Islam, which integrated with Islamic mysticism and thought and became a way for divine manifestations. Many of our precious miniature created during the Abbasid period, were unfortunately destroyed during the Mongol attacks in the 7th and 8th centuries.
