Asma-al-Hosna is Masoud Safar’s calligraphy-painting made of acrylic on canvas (Dimensions 100 x 100 cm).
The names of the Lord, the sacred space of divine words; Asma-al-Hosna; Writing the names of God in a script that is among the first written Arabic scripts; A representation of Kufic script, more than a thousand years after its formation; the earliest versions of Quran are also written in Kufic. This script is very similar to “Daena-dipi-bara” or Avestan script; Avestan alphabet can be seen in Iranian architecture.
Calligraphy-painting is a contemporary field of art; Encountering alphabets as a purely visual element; The shapes formed by combination of letters and words; A collection of forms that is a new representation of traditional script (here in Kufic script).
In ancient Iranian culture, the number four and accordingly square and cube, are symbol of perfection and have a divine manifestation; As the number has the same characteristics; hence, the frame of this work is square;
